Spider lilies (aka hurricane flowers; lycoris radiata) signify the beginning of autumn here in the southeast.  They are oftentimes found in cemeteries, or dotting the landscape of old home places, sparking imaginations of bygone times. These in our yard, came from my husband’s grandmother’s home.
